Teen Mixed Media
Let’s explore the power of creative expression in many forms. Together, we will create portfolio-ready artworks and develop basic proficiency across a spectrum of creative modalities: sketching/composition, design, painting, printing, bookmaking, textile manipulation, 3D construction, and more. Artists will channel their inner vision to guide projects from conception to finish. Media for this class will range from illustration (graphite, oil pastel, colored pencils, and markers) to printmaking (silk screens, photo emulsion, UV exposure, Speedy-Carve, inks, paints, and dyes), with an emphasis on accessible/recycled materials.
Each artist will be given the space and support to create customized personal projects (i.e., zine/print editions, tote bags, t-shirts, keychains, posters, and more) unique to their own artistic voice.
This class will include a visit to MAM’s galleries during class time to learn from artists on view and be inspired.
