Host an Event at Montclair Art Museum

 

The Montclair Art Museum, built in 1914, is a remarkable architectural treasure. Located among the stately homes and tree-lined streets of Montclair, New Jersey, this historic site is noted for its beautiful grounds and neoclassical columns and portico. The Museum is the  perfect venue for weddings, bar/bat mitzvah celebrations, corporate events, fundraisers, holiday  parties, and more.

 
 
 

 

Weddings

 

Wedding receptions can be celebrated in Leir Hall and Lehman Court with the seasonal option of a ceremony on the Museum’s South Mountain Front Lawn. Lehman Court, with its neoclassic columns and archways, terrazzo floor and art exhibitions, is a perfect space to host an intimate wedding, engagement party or rehearsal dinner.  With the rental of Lehman Court, guests are welcome to view the art in the Museum’s renowned galleries for a unique and memorable experience. 

 

A floor below is Leir Hall, with dramatic 45’ high ceilings, skylights, arched windows, a stage for a band or DJ and a full theatre-size retractable screen, making it ideal for seated dinner and dancing receptions. Couples may rent both spaces together to hold a ceremony and cocktail hour in Lehman Court and then move downstairs to Leir Hall for a dinner and dance reception. 

 

 

 

Bar and Bat Mitzvah Celebrations 

 

Leir Hall is a perfect setting for a fun and memorable celebration. The large retractable screen, projection and sound system allows for a visual and audio tribute to the celebrant while up to 200 guests seated at tables and chairs or 250 at a standing only party can fill the space and pack the dance floor. Leir Hall lends itself to creative themed decorating possibilities with areas perfect for draped soft seating while other areas can be designated for games or photo booths.

 

 

 

Private Events 

 

Celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, holidays or a special occasion at the Museum in either Lehman Court, Leir Hall or both. Lehman Court, with its neoclassic columns and archways, terrazzo floor and art exhibitions, is a perfect space to host an intimate wedding, engagement party or rehearsal dinner.  With the rental of Lehman Court, guests are welcome to view the art in the Museum’s renowned galleries for a unique and memorable experience.

The Museum offers a unique cultural experience for your next corporate event. Host an intimate cocktail party for up to135 or a seated dinner up to 65 in Lehman Court, with its neoclassic columns and archways, terrazzo floor and art exhibitions. With the rental of Lehman Court, guests are welcome to view the art in the Museum’s renowned galleries. You can also arrange for docent tour of our permanent collection or current special exhibition. A floor below is Leir Hall, with dramatic 45’ high ceilings, skylights, arched windows, a stage and retractable screen, making it ideal for seated dinner and dancing events with the option of including a presentation using our state-of-the-art AV system. Choose to rent both spaces together to host a cocktail hour in Lehman Court and then move downstairs to Leir Hall for dinner or choose to have your event in just one space.

 

 

Non-profits

 

For registered nonprofits and educational organizations the Museum offers a discount on our rental fees. We welcome your nonprofit organization to take advantage of our reduced fees for your next gala, fundraiser, reception, board meeting or other special event.

 

 

 

Meetings and Conferences

 

Within Leir Hall is our Whitehead Conference Room which can be closed off from the larger hall for private meetings. It features a board room conference table with phone setup for absent attendees to call in. to Our state-of-the-art projector and screen, as well as our video monitor set up is available for your use. Ideal for meetings of 10-30. For larger conferences up to 250, Leir Hall can be set up theatre-style for presentations or with tables and chairs. Our full size theatre screen (25’ x 20’), Sanyo PLC-XF30 projector as well as our podium and microphones allows for a professional conference in our beautiful Museum setting. You can arrange for your attendees to visit our galleries or even arrange for docent tours or creative brainstorming sessions built around our permanent collection or special current exhibition.

 

 

Concerts, Film Screenings, Recitals

 

Leir Hall is an ideal venue for performance events or screenings. Featuring theatre-style seating capacity of 250, features a full size 25’ x 20’ theatre screen with state-of-the art audio/video capabilities, and a 16’ x 40’ hardwood floor performance stage. Professional musicians can arrange to use our vintage Steinway baby grand piano.
