MAM Stands in Solidarity with the Black Community

The Board and staff of the Montclair Art Museum stand with the Black community as we mourn the lives lost to racism. As a community-centered institution, we are unequivocal in our stance against racism in all of its forms.

We must continue to provide a platform where we face tough issues in our society as expressed through art. In partnership with our African American Cultural Committee, we will continue to identify ways that we can actively participate as an agent for societal change.

The arts play a critical role as a medium of observation, insight, education, articulation and advocacy. We pledge to continue to be a place where the arts fight the injustices in our society and we invite you to join us in this commitment.
