Join us for Free First Thursday Nights at MAM every month from October through June,  5–9 p.m., and enjoy an evening of free art and dynamic programming.

6-7 p.m. Newark Boys Chorus Holiday Concert, Leir Hall
6:30 p.m. Docent-Led Tour of Constructing Identity in America, Rotunda
7:30 p.m. Docent-Led Tour of Kara Walker: Virginia's Lynch Mob and Other Works, Elevator Lobby
7-8 p.m. Kara Walker Community Conversation with MAM AACC members Casey Carpenter and Jennifer Rittner, Geyer Studio

Each Free First Thursday Night Includes

  • Free general museum admission from 5-9 p.m.
  • The Free First Thursday Night Bar with a variety of drinks. Cash and credit accepted.
  • Draw Along Workshop - all ages are invited to get creative in a free drop-in session with a clothed model
  • Teen Space - this new open studio is available just for teens! 7-9 p.m. during Yard School of Art semesters (will not run in December)
  • Live Music
  • Free tours
  • Food Vendors



















PLEASE NOTE there is NO Free First Thursday Night in January. Free First Thursday Night will return February 7, 2019!
