Introduction to Landscape Painting
Intro to Landscape Painting is an adult foundational class for beginners to explore painting through landscape subject matter. Students will be introduced to watercolor, acrylic and oil painting materials and techniques and learn the basics of landscape painting in each medium. Various historical paintings will be viewed and discussed to inspire and better understand different painting styles. Students will learn compositional skills, perspective and how to create depth, by balancing light and shadow, how to handle painting materials for watercolor, acrylic and oil paint, color theory and more.
This class is open to both artists with no painting experience or beginner artists interested in developing their painting skills and techniques.

Grace Brown
Grace Brown is a mixed-media artist with an emphasis in oil, watercolor, and acrylic painting. She graduated from William Paterson University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a concentration in Interdisciplinary Studio Art. Her artwork has been exhibited in several galleries and art shows since 2017. Grace works as an art instructor for children and teens at MAM’s SummerArt camps at the Van Vleck House & Gardens, and does outreach with MAM’s Art Truck. Grace is also MAM’s Program Assistant for the Scholastic Art Awards. She is passionate about animals and the environment.
