Beginner/Intermediate Functional Ware

Learn the art of throwing basic functional shapes on a pottery wheel. As a beginner, you will make cups, vases, and bowls. Intermediate potters will learn handle and lid making to create mugs, pitchers, and pots with lids. You will also learn trimming and glazing to transform your pieces into functional artistic pottery to use in your daily life. Classes include demonstrations and individual support in a creative and friendly environment.

Sabine Percelay

Sabine Percelay was born and raised in Switzerland and lives in Montclair. She has studied kinetics, choreography, and teaching. She is a former dancer and owner of a dance studio in Basel. She began her training with ceramics at MAM seven years ago and loves the mix of creativity, fluidity, and craftsmanship of pottery making. Sabine is an experienced teacher and personal trainer, who loves to garden, cook, hike, run, dance, read and watch movies. She also happens to be an identical twin who married an identical twin.
