Planned Giving

Since its founding in 1914, the Montclair Art Museum has continued to grow from a tradition of generous giving by individuals with a vision for the future. You can be part of this enduring legacy by remembering the Museum in your will. Regardless of the size of your estate, a bequest is one of the simplest ways to personally make a difference in the future of the Museum. Other opportunities include gift annuities, which offer tax benefits today, and a steady income stream for the donor. Either way you will help ensure that MAM can continue to provide a world of art for the inspiration of generations to come.
As the Montclair Art Museum prepares to celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2014, Planned Giving is playing an increasingly vital role in our future. Our ongoing success depends on the support of individuals who believe deeply in our mission and want to preserve our outstanding legacy of American art.
The term "planned giving" refers to any major gift that involves financial or estate planning. Such gifts can provide important benefits both to you and to the Museum.
The different types of planned gifts include:
- Bequests
- Life Income Plans
- Charitable Gift Annuities
- Charitable Remainder Trusts
- Charitable Lead Trusts
- Gifts of Life Insurance Policies
- Gifts of Tangible Property and Art
Individuals who have chosen to make planned gifts to MAM become members of The Heritage Society, a recognition group that honors those who inform us that they are including the Museum in their estate plans. Informing us of your plans is a good idea for several reasons. First, it lets you ensure that we understand your wishes so that your gift will be used exactly as you intend. Second, it allows the Museum to make note of you gift in plans for the future. And finally, it lets us honor you and show our appreciation by including you in the roster of members of the Heritage Society. To enroll in the Heritage Society, simply print out, complete and return this form.
The staff of the Museum’s Development Office look forward to working with you and your advisors to structure a gift that best fulfills your charitable goals.
