Volunteer & Docent Programs
The dedication of volunteers has been central to the growth and vitality of the Montclair Art Museum. By helping to create a diverse community of MAM members who reach out and serve the public, our volunteers further the mission of the Museum.

Children’s and Family Programs
Assist with arts and crafts activities at children’s and family events held throughout the year.
Clerical Help
Provide clerical support to the various Museum departments, including such tasks as computer data entry, envelope stuffing and filing.
Curatorial Department
Work with Museum curators and curatorial staff on a variety of projects.
Docent Program, Education Department
Due to limited space in the Docent Program, training for new docents is held every other year. Training sessions occur weekly during the academic year (September through early June), and there are additional workshops in the summer. Training lasts for a minimum of one year before individuals are considered for the Docent Program.
The Montclair Art Museum will be accepting new docents in the summer of 2012.

Fundraising
Be a part of MAM’s annual Phonathon and other fundraising activities.
Gala
Join the effort to make the Museum’s major fundraiser a success. Leadership positions, as well as tasks large and small, are available.
Gardening and Grounds
Assist in the care and maintenance of the plantings on Museum grounds.
Marketing and Communications
Help with general office work and special projects in the Museum’s Marketing and Communications Department.
Membership Tables
Promote the benefits of MAM membership at Museum and community events.
Museum Store
Assist customers both in front of and behind the sales desk and help with inventory and other auxiliary activities.
Special Events
Lend a hand at Members’ Openings, lectures, and other special events by registering guests, pouring wine, distributing programs, etc.
Yard School of Art
Serve as volunteer assistant to art teachers during children's classes and at children's birthday art parties.
